Navy Beans

List of Ingredients

Beans, navy, mature seeds, raw

Similar to Great Northern in flavor and cooking, but smaller, more pea like.

BEAN SPREAD

2 T olive oil* 
1 finely chopped onion
1 chopped green pepper 
3 stalks celery chopped 
1/2 c finely shredded carrots
3 c cooked navy beans*  
2 cloves garlic crushed
1 T curry powder*
1 T tamari or soy sauce
1 1/2 c water or bean water

Saute in oil the onion, pepper, celery, garlic and celery til tender. 

Add remaining ingredients. 

Mix well and put in pan and bake in oven til liquid is absorbed ( 1 hour at 350ºF ). 

Cool.

Mash in food processor and Chill before using.

USES FOR BEAN SPREAD:

Spread on bread or crackers

Use as dip for fresh veggies

Shape in balls and deep fry. 

Add to pita “sandwich” with tomatoes, onion, lettuce and dressing.

Form into hamburger patties and fry.
